Hammam Warm Rooms
Hammam warm rooms (ılıklık) are one of the important sections of the traditional Turkish hammam. These areas are designed as part of the overall structure of the hammam and arranged to serve hammam visitors for different purposes. Hammam warm rooms are used for the following purposes:
- Preparing the body: As the entrance section of the hammam, the warm room is used to prepare the body for the hammam process. The temperature rises slowly here, which raises body temperature, softens the skin and opens the pores.
- Relaxation: The warm room offers visitors the chance to shed stress and relax. Hot water and humidity loosen the muscles, reduce stress and bring mental relaxation.
- Sweating: The high humidity level in the warm room encourages sweating to expel toxins from the body. This can help to cleanse the skin and improve general health.
- Skin care: Hot water and steam help to cleanse the skin and shed dead cells. The taps and basins in the warm room provide visitors with water and materials for skin care.
- Social interaction: The warm room provides an environment where people can come together, chat and interact socially. In traditional Turkish culture, hammam visits are seen not only as a way of cleansing but also as a social event.
For these reasons, hammam warm rooms are used not only for cleansing but also for various purposes such as relaxation, social interaction and skin care.

Heated Loungers
The term “heated lounger” generally refers to a type of massage therapy or spa treatment. This treatment is usually carried out on a specially designed massage bed and involves a gentle, soothing warmth applied to the body using various techniques. The purpose of using a heated lounger generally includes the following:
- Muscle relaxation: A heated lounger can relax the muscles in the body and reduce tension. This can be especially helpful when you feel tired after a long day or suffer from muscle aches.
- Improving circulation: Warmth can widen the blood vessels and so increase circulation. This in turn can help carry more oxygen and nutrients to the tissues.
- Stress and mental relaxation: A heated lounger not only provides physical relaxation but can also help to reduce mental stress. Through the effect of the warm water, it can increase the release of “feel-good” chemicals such as serotonin and endorphins.
- Skin care: Heated lounger treatments are generally used to moisturise and revitalise the skin. This is especially seen in skin-care-focused services that form part of spa treatments.
- A romantic and enjoyable experience: In some cases, heated lounger treatments can be used to create a romantic atmosphere or to enjoy a special moment.
Such spa treatments are generally performed by professional therapists and are tailored to the person’s state of health, preferences and needs. The main aim of heated lounger spa treatments is to give people both physical and mental relaxation.
